FUSPro Holds Grand Launch and Graduation Ceremony in Kazo–Kawempe, Honored by OWC Representative Col. Victor
The Federation of Uganda Salons and Beauty Professionals (FUSPro) proudly held its Grand Launch and Graduation Ceremony at Kazo–Kawempe Playground, marking a historic milestone in the federation’s journey to professionalize and empower Uganda’s beauty industry.
The colorful event brought together hundreds of salon owners, beauticians, barbers, and partners to celebrate progress in skills development and formal recognition of beauty practitioners. A total of 74 graduates were awarded their Workers’ Passes and National Advanced Certificates, officially issued by the Uganda Vocational Training and Assessment Board (UVTAB).
The ceremony was graced by Col. Victor, who represented Gen. Salim Saleh, the Chief Coordinator of Operation Wealth Creation (OWC). In his remarks, Col. Victor applauded FUSPro for organizing and uplifting practitioners in the informal sector, noting that such initiatives directly contribute to Uganda’s wealth creation and job growth agenda.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Kamanyire Celestine , the Chairperson, highlighted that the federation’s focus is to ensure every beauty practitioner across the country is trained, certified, and economically empowered through SACCO formations and government support programs like the GROW Project.
The Grand Launch symbolized a new chapter for Uganda’s beauty industry — one built on professionalism, Integrity, unity, Innovation, community empowerment as well as networking and colloboration. FUSPro reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with Operation Wealth Creation, the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development (MGLSD), KCCA, UNBS, MoLG, MoTIC, MSC, URA, NPA, OPM, Association of Cosmetic Manufacturerers and other key stakeholders to promote skills development and financial inclusion among salon and beauty professionals.
