The Federation of Uganda Salons and Beauty Professionals (FUSPro) Chief Executive Officer, Kamanyire Celestine, met with the former Chief Executive Officer of Stanbic Bank Uganda in a high-level discussion aimed at empowering beauty professionals through financial literacy and business development opportunities.
The meeting focused on creating pathways for salon owners and beauty entrepreneurs to access affordable credit, improve business management, and promote savings and investment within the beauty sector — one of Uganda’s largest employers of women and youth.
Promoting Financial Inclusion for Beauty Professionals
During the engagement, CEO Kamanyire Celestine emphasised the need for strong financial partnerships that can help transform the informal beauty sector into a financially stable and sustainable industry. She highlighted the challenges many salon operators face, including limited access to financing, lack of financial education, and informal business practices that restrict growth.
“Many of our members have the talent and passion, but lack the financial tools to expand their businesses,” said Ms. Kamanyire Celestine. “Our goal is to bridge that gap by working with financial institutions that believe in the potential of Uganda’s beauty professionals.”

The former Stanbic Bank CEO commended FUSPro’s leadership for its strategic vision and commitment to uplifting Uganda’s beauty industry. He acknowledged the crucial role the sector plays in job creation and women’s economic empowerment, pledging support for financial education programs and innovative savings initiatives tailored for salon owners and beauty professionals.
