During the Hoima City sensitization campaign at Liberty Radio, headed by Jjuuko Abubakali, Public Relations Officer of the Federation of Uganda Salons and Beauty Professionals (FUSPro), the Federation elaborated on its mission to formalize, regulate, and professionalize Uganda and beauty sector by promoting structured registration, compliance, skills development, and ethical business practices. The intent of this mission is to transition beauty enterprises from informal operations into recognized, standards-driven businesses that contribute meaningfully to employment, taxation, and national economic growth. The Federation reaffirmed its vision of a compliant, empowered, and globally competitive beauty industry built on competence, quality assurance, and strong institutional coordination.
This vision prioritizes continuous training and competency-based assessment for workers as a key pillar of professionalism, ensuring practitioners meet national standards, enhance consumer confidence, and deliver high-quality services across the sector. FUSPro further emphasized its core values of professionalism, integrity, community empowerment, innovation, networking, and collaboration. Professionalism is strengthened through structured training programs, standardized assessment, certification pathways, and adherence to industry codes of conduct. Integrity promotes transparency and accountability in service delivery. Community empowerment is advanced through the formation and strengthening of SACCOs to improve access to affordable finance and enterprise growth.
Innovation encourages the adoption of modern techniques and technologies, while networking and collaboration foster partnerships with government institutions, development partners, and private sector stakeholders to sustainably grow Uganda and beauty industry.
