The Federation of Uganda Salons and Beauty Professionals (FUSPro) convened a high-level industry engagement meeting bringing together key government MDAs and sector institutions to advance the formalization and capacity building of Uganda’s beauty industry. Among the institutions represented were the Ministry of Local Government (MoLG), Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development (MGLSD), Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS), National Environment Management Authority (NEMA), and the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA). The meeting focused on strengthening regulatory compliance, improving standards, promoting environmental responsibility, and supporting structured local government coordination for beauty enterprises across the country.
Additional participation from the National Planning Authority (NPA), Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development (MoFPED), and the Uganda Association of Cosmetic Manufacturers reinforced the importance of aligning the beauty sector with national development priorities, fiscal policy, and industrial growth strategies. The engagement concluded with a shared commitment to develop a coordinated roadmap for formalization, enterprise support, skills development, and sustainable industry growth.
