The Federation of Uganda Salons and Beauty Professionals (FUSPro) Technical Team held a strategic working meeting with the Technical and Strategic Committee for Industry Standards at the Uganda National Bureau of Standard (UNBS) to advance the development and harmonization of standards within the beauty sector. The engagement focused on establishing clear quality benchmarks for salon services, cosmetic products, equipment usage, hygiene practices, and consumer protection frameworks to ensure professionalism and public safety across the industry.
During the discussions, both teams explored pathways for sector-specific standardization, compliance support mechanisms, and structured sensitization programs to help beauty enterprises transition smoothly into regulated operations. The meeting concluded with a commitment to ongoing technical collaboration aimed at strengthening certification processes, enhancing product and service quality, and positioning Uganda and beauty industry to compete effectively at both national and regional levels
